Hanami - Spring at Obirin
Hello past, current, and future Japan Fellows. It's great to see this forum up and running! The 桜 (sakura - cherry blossoms) are blooming this week around 桜美林 (Obirin). We celebrated hanami as our first Shansi-kai. The Gotoh family, Ebara family, Malcolm Hoshi, Akiko Hayashi, Yoshie Fueki, and I attended. We look forward to many more Shansi-related parties in the future. Maybe the next one will be a BBQ?! Here's to spring in Japan. Cheers!

Is there some way to post photos to the forum? We would love to see pictures of the hanami, especially since it snowed today in Oberlin (=_=)

I don't know if we can post pics on the forum... looks like there is an option for it in the toolbar above. I'll try it sometime. In the meantime, I have some pictures of the cherry blossoms up on my shutterfly site bkingnihon.shutterfly.com. The snow in April is one thing I don't miss about Oberlin, but I miss just about everything else. Keep us posted on campus life!
